Prince Inspired Charity To Set Sail on 5 Day Caribbean Cruise Dubbed the Purple Party Of The Year 2019 With Many Prince Related Guests on Carnival Cruise Lines Including Dr. Fink, Chris Moon, Owen Husney and More

NEW ORLEANS, LA, August 29, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — 4theLoveofGod, a Prince inspired charity, notably the largest registered 501c3 non profit honoring Prince, has put together a 5 day Prince themed Caribbean cruise entitled “Purple Party of the Year 2019”. The cruise will be hosted by Carnival Cruise Lines and will port out of New Orleans, LA , January 5th-10th, 2019 and travel to Cozumel and Progreso (Yucatan), Mexico. 4theLoveofGod, was founded in 2016 by Gail Ward-Holden, a Chattanooga, TN resident, whose admiration for Prince since his beginnings, and her desire to serve and provide for the less fortunate led her to put together the charity whose mission is “To improve the lives of underprivileged children through the gift of music and the arts (honoring the legacy and humanitarian efforts of Prince Rogers Nelson).”

The cruise will feature meet and greets, interviews, contests, silent auctions, dance parties, and other Prince-related special events with an impressive list of guests that were involved with the legendary pop music icon’s nearly forty year career.

Among the guests attending the cruise include Prince and The Revolution’s legendary keyboardist, “Dr.” Matt Fink who began playing for Prince in 1979 with performing credits starting with Dirty Mind and contributing for nearly a decade, all the way through to Prince’s Lovesexy era. Additionally, Doctor Fink revealed on a Funkatopia interview that this would be his very first cruise and is excited to be a active participant for the charity, 4theLoveofGod.

Other notable guests include, the man who discovered Prince, Chris Moon, (MoonSound Studios) and co-writer of Prince’s first gold record Soft & Wet. Moon also helped develop Prince’s recording techniques and connected him with his first manager, Owen Husney, (author of Famous People Who’ve Met Me) that will also be aboard the Prince-themed cruise. Husney was responsible for managing Prince’s early career and assisting Prince with acquiring his first recording contract with Warner Brothers.

Also on board the ship to officially release and autograph her new book Diamonds N Curlz, Prince’s hairstylist of 29 years, Ms. Kim Berry. Berry spent countless hours with Prince and will share some of her “up close & personal” stories of her years spent with, as she identifies him, “His Royal Badness.”

The special guest lineup will also include a few more additions including Funkatopia founder and speaker Chris Horton, better known as Mr. Christopher on the website’s online radio station and app FUNKEDUP. Also, Painter of Pancakes artist Dan Lacey whose stunning Prince themed pieces are created from just outside the gates of Prince’s Paisley Park in Chanhassen, MN. Finishing the cruise’s guest lineup will be former Paisley Park tour guide and performer TaNisha Ann Britton who plans a special performance during the cruise.

Proceeds benefit 4theLoveOfGod’s M.I.N.D. Project (Music4 Innovation Neighborhood Development), which provides musical instruments and lessons to children, young adults and seniors.
