Rewards videos which promulgate new approaches to Sustainability Issues

KYIV, UKRAINE, April 13, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — International NGO AI for Good has announced a challenge involving 17 awards for short form videos (TikTok, Instagram Reels, Youtube Shorts) about each of the UN’s 17 Agenda for Sustainability Goals.

According to the non-profit’s VP Soani Gunawan, this is a reprise of a contest from 2022 which succeeded in bringing human and AI-generated answers to serious issues throughout the developing world, and also some surprising solutions. Consulting for groups contributing videos to the #ForClimate challenge from TikTok For Good, the team initiated a significant proportion of 8 million videos, which garnered 41 billion views and 8 billion likes. For every 100,000 likes, 75 sustainable startups were founded, 125 patents for new technologies were granted, 35 new non-profits came into being, and tens of thousands of individuals were inspired to spread the word (as measured by video comments).

“We feel that this time we can 10x those numbers” says Creative Director Amy Chang. “The technology is better, the algorithms are better, the AI that underlies both the production and the promotion of the videos is better. And we have prizes this time, which we lacked before. So the incentive to contribute is greater. And since we know the percentages, we can make reasonable predictions about how many startups, NGOs, and new inventions will arise from the project. If you can inspire enough video Creators, you can also motivate a significant number of solution builders. Short videos inspire people to think, to share, to act, to innovate, and to inspire.”
