Lacrosse organization announces new general manager

CHICAGO, IL, March 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — True Lacrosse is excited to announce its new Girls General Manager for the State of Illinois, Kirk Lamitie.

“This announcement comes with a great deal of pride for me, Kirk has been involved with True since the inception of our program. Due to his experience, passion, and knowledge for the game I know that our program is strengthening under his leadership. His work ethic and dedication to the development and success of each girl in our program is unparalleled. It truly feels as though we have gone full circle to now have Kirk named our Girls General Manager in Illinois,” explained Suzanne Rich, National Girls Director for True Lacrosse.

Coach Lamitie has played an essential role in the True Lacrosse organization since the beginning. He joined the team back when the very first girls program came to fruition and since has played a vital role in growing the True Lacrosse girls throughout the Midwest. He has built two Midwest college lacrosse programs from the ground up. He is passionate about working with athletes to reach their dreams of playing lacrosse. His experience and skills are what allow him to successfully coach lacrosse at all levels and ages.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Lamitie took home the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference Head Coach of the Year in 2016, and he had held the position of head coach at Lewis University for four years. Before joining the Lewis University team, Coach Lamitie was the head coach at Illinois Tech for four years, among many other head coaching positions throughout his time. He has also coached athletes who have gone on to play at high-level programs such as Duke, Northwestern, Navy, GVSU, UINDY and many others.

“I’m excited to continue the growth of the girls game here in Illinois,” Lamitie said. “I’ve always believed in the quality of experience we provide here at True Lacrosse, and I’m excited to continue adding more experience and value to the athlete experience.”
