According to a June 2019 Department of Justice press release a medical device manufacturer recently pleaded guilty to charges relating to its powder wound dressing product. The medical product company entered a guilty plea to one misdemeanor count of failure and refusal to report a medical device removal in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA). In addition, the company agreed to settle allegations that it caused false claims and to pay $15 million to resolve its criminal and civil liability arising from these matters.
The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “We are urging an employee of a medical device or medical product company to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if they can prove their employer is selling a dangerous or defective product. Aside from potentially making a lot of money we think a whistleblower that steps forward with information like this is a hero and we think they deserve the best potential whistleblower rewards. Please don’t sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it might have been worth?” https://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you want to become a whistleblower who gets rewarded: The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “Whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information either. Any type of public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy the prospect for a financial reward. Do not try to force a medical device or pharmaceutical company to come clean about the ineffectiveness of their pharmaceutical or medical device product or products.”
