YOUNGSTOWN, OH, July 24, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Austintown Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is turning the big 2-0 and throwing a party to celebrate! The Austintown store will kick off festivities at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 4800 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown, OH 44515. The party is open to the public, where guests can enjoy face painting, character appearances, a balloon artist, coloring contests, a prize wheel, giveaways, and more!

The Austintown Handel’s is led by franchise owner Leigh Jaffer, who grew up with the brand since she was 11 years old. Jaffer is the daughter of Lenny Fisher, who purchased the company from founder Alice Handel in 1985. Fisher was vital in the growth and expansion of the brand particularly through franchising. He currently serves as Chairman for Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream.
Leigh Jaffer quickly learned the legacy of the business at an early age, having worked in the stores helping scoop ice cream before transitioning to a corporate role and buying a franchise with her husband, Dr. Adil Jaffer. In addition to the Austintown location, the Jaffer’s also own the Broadview Heights store at 103 E. Royalton Rd and the North Canton store at 2191 E Maple St.
